AAMI Protection Level of Surgical Gown
AAMI PB70 is a standard set by the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) that defines the liquid barrier performance and classification of surgical gowns, drapes, and other protective apparel used in healthcare settings. The standard consists of four levels of protection (Levels 1-4) based on the level of barrier protection provided by the product.
Level 1 provides the lowest level of protection and is designed for use during basic care,
such as routine blood draws and exams.
Test Method: AATCC 42 water resistance test
Level 2 provides a higher level of protection and is intended for use during procedures
with low to moderate fluid exposure, such as endoscopy or bronchoscopy.
Test Method: AATCC 42 and AATCC 127 synthetic blood penetration test
Level 3 provides moderate to high protection and is intended for use during procedures
with moderate to high fluid exposure, such as orthopedic surgery or laparoscopy.
Test Method: AATCC 42 and AATCC 127 with increased pressure
Level 4 provides the highest level of protection and is intended for use during procedures
with high fluid exposure, such as trauma or cardiovascular surgery.
Test Method: ASTM F1670 synthetic blood penetration test and ASTM F1671 viral penetration

Fabric Guide for Surgical Gown
We use a verity of fabrics including but not limited to SMS, SMMS, SMMMS, SSMMS, Spunbond, BVB etc.
Choosing a right fabric is very crucial to provide best performance in the minimum cost.
SSMMS (3 beams of Spunbond and 2 beams of Meltblown) or simply SMS Nonwovens is a 5 layered 100% Polypropylene nonwoven fabric manufactured using 5 beams. This fabric offers amazing benefits like fine filtration, low pressure drop, acoustic insulation and decent strength and elongation.

Breathable Viral Barrier (BVB)
- Darker inner layer reduces shadowing and is soft to the touch
